LODICAM

LODICAM: Sviluppo di sistemi di LOtta sostenibile e DIagnostica tempestiva in CAmpo contro il Mal bianco del nocciolo, introdotto recentemente in Piemonte

With this project, we aim to develop a diagnostic system for E. corylacearum, the causal agent of the emerging hazelnut powdery mildew, for direct field application. The system will combine a rapid, cost-effective molecular diagnostic method based on the LAMP technique with a Raman spectroscopy-based approach.

The development of both the LAMP and Raman spectroscopy techniques for the rapid field detection of E. corylacearum will significantly reduce diagnosis time, enabling early assessment of infection risk in the environment. By monitoring the pathogen’s spread, new outbreaks in Piedmont can be promptly identified, providing crucial support for the implementation of sustainable control strategies against this disease.
